Wilfred Owen once wrote "Those who have no hope pass their old age shrouded with an inward gloom." I admit, recently, due to certain events (some I have mentioned, others I have not) I have not been the happiest young woman I know; but there comes a time when you can either get over things, or let them pull you down further into your self-indulging, sad mood.
Instead: things are going to change. I'll tell you more about this in a week.

apparently it what you do when you are trying to make someone feel more comfortable.
I was whinging that I feel unoriginal because I often copy other people's mannerisms and sayings. I was happy with this new justification.

it makes sense. If I were in another country, I would try to speak their language so they felt comfortable with me...
but there's one major flaw in your theory.
I already feel comfortable with you, so you don't really need to change.
Though, a flaw in my theory is that you're not really changing, if copying mannerisms and sayings is what you do.
Hmm.
so nevermind?
(i know you say there's no such thing as thinking too much, but... i think i might.)

oh no, I have no doubt I think too much...its just that old mate the acupuncturist told me and i was **thinking** "Dude, that's old news"
An answer to your poem:
Hil, it's God.
I know it's odd
to answer in poetic form,
but you should know you aren't alone,
because your heart is warm.
Those aren't currents beneath your skin;
they're simply deeds you must begin.
The universe will pay you back
so make your deeds all selfless acts.
Don't forget to look within.
By the way, your priest is smart;
please listen to his sage advice.
Remember, patience is an art,
far more than a device.
If you ever feel the need
to pray to me again,
I'll say the same thing over:
There are deeds you must begin.
Now go and touch the world somehow.
Use your gifts unselfishly.
Use your pen and use your mind
To help the people see.

Wow, I leave for a bit and get behind in blog reading and you have lots and lots. Many hugs for you and your uncle, I have enjoyed and pondered over the pieces of writing you have written, wondered about your "killer" brother-in-law sorta : ) and now we must wait a week for the continuation of your change.... and yes I did have turkey and other wonderful food over the holiday (I visited a hispanic friend and her family and enjoyed a yummy mix of cultures and food) and then I ended up leaving at 9am sunday morning and got back to my house at 4am tuesday (the aiports had a bit of a spaz fit during the holiday it seems, I now know the Atlanta airport from one end to the other) but I made it home and have begun to get back in the swing of things - and last, but not least, thanks for the quote - it really fits my mindset of late so thank you for it (it is now on a post it note on my computer at work) - hang in take care and onward to getting over things and finding some hope... - doc
