story-time, kiddies.

"I think that the differences in people are ironically what unites them. For example, there was a guy called ‘Juan Mann’ from Australia who got onto ‘Oprah’ because he started holding a sign in the Pitt St mall saying “free hugs” because he was sad and wanted to make people smile. Everyone was wary of him at first, but eventually all these random people came up to him and hugged him. He was put in a film clip of a struggling band, and now the band and the guy are so successful that Oprah had him on her show. Juan man (pronounced ‘one man’) made the world a little better because he had the guts to do something unexpected and wonderful. "

(one of the middle paragraphs of an introduction essay I wrote for ccusa.)

Comments:
I made a FREE HUGS t-shirt for myself and when I wear it people freak out. I now sell it on Ebay. It is a blue shirt with white Free hugs lettering (very approachable), it looks like the free hugs sign. Check it out and help spread the love. Thanks FREE HUGS TO ALL

freak out as in "wow that's cool", or as in they hug you, or they say "you freak!!" (and run away?)

*smiles* + *hugs*

i remember when i first heard about the free hugs campaign... it's something so simple, but that really makes a lot of people feel good, even just for a little while... and i thought it interesting how 1) people ignored the man a lot at first and 2) how it got banned... i suppose that shows how people tend to distrust other people, especially stangers (which is understandable, but kind of sad)... either way, i thought it was a good idea, and i like your middle paragraph of an introduction that you wrote about it (it summarizes the campaign nicely)... by the way, what is "ccusa"?...
take care~
