me = old man

Lately, I’ve been forgetting to zip my jeans.

A once considered event that happened only to old people is now occurring to me. What’s more, last night when I was sitting in the Irish pub with some friends, I realised that I really don’t have great feelings towards young strangers. I usually pick out their flaws, one by one, and mentally make a list of why I shouldn’t need to make an effort with those people. This has only been a recent thing. I never used to be like that. I think it may be the effect of the people I’m conversing with - which, to be honest, they’re chauvinistic assholes that I quite like. Yet, when I’m in a place where I see older strangers, I don’t make mental non piace lists, I make piace lists, lists of reasons why I should make an effort with these people. What exactly does this mean? I am an angry old fart in a young woman’s body. You know the stereotype - the old man who mutters curses about P plate drivers, who don’t like being pushed off the path by punks on skateboards, who wear Alicia Keys hats. He is inside me. In the depths he has been lurking, waiting to come out. It seems he has chosen the eve of my 21st birthday to rear his ugly head. Oh poo.

On another note, why do events always seem to happen in three’s? Easter, next weekend (family stuff) & my birthday. (for example) Bad things, good things, always in three’s. If I believed in fate, I would say that the three people in charge have A4 sheets of paper that they write three events out on. The three fates all have different outlooks: one is pessimistic, one is optimistic, and the other writes out the ho-hum events, and on each piece of paper they write on, they have enough room for three things to happen, thus why it always happens as such.
This is a half-baked, pseudo mythical theory, I know. But it would explain a lot.

Anyway, happy easter world.

Comments:
So, are you a 21 year old young lady or a 65 year old nasty old man? I'm confused. (Alright, I'm not really confused, but I thought I'd play along.)

As to things happening in threes, perhaps we can only notice in threes. We notice one thing, then a second, and by the time we've noticed three things, our mind is full and does a memory dump.

Happy birthday, even though I'm a little late in saying it.

when i said 'eve', i meant round-about eve. not the night before.

which i guess, is kind of stupid.

my actual birthday is on the 16th.
So, you're early. I think you're only number 6 or 7 to have said it so far.
