leaving the menagerie
The Tiger thinks i'm smart,
the grizzly thinks i'm kind,
the panda notes my heart
and leaves my past behind.
But the Tiger's deaf to words that are spoken,
and the grizzly wants me to unwind.
The panda was a reason why my heart was broken
and why I listen to my mind.
The horse thinks I am innocent,
The cat gave balloons to me,
but the horse prays to a different God,
and the balloons were only 2D.
The barn-owl notes my literary quotes,
but thinks I can improve.
The snake happily gives me downvotes,
and will surely hiss less when i move.
The bear is a brilliant writer,
the monkey isn't as good,
but bear doesn't post very often,
as i believe she should.
The dark eyed crows doesn't write poetry anymore,
his opposite, the butterfly, was always gay,
the crow never understood his worth,
and the butterfly was locked away.
The jaguar says she will miss me,
When I leave YP in June,
But i'm sure the animals will find another hummingbird
that will sing a similar tune.
