in the context of today:

We are meant to do great things,
For the unheard and the unseen,
In the beginning, at the end,
And all times in-between.

Against the racists and the fascists,
For the impoverished and the few,
Our hearts should swim in these depths,
For those we never knew.

Our ancestors lay in quiet graves,
For their sins we must atone,
They cannot band together now-
So we must stand proudly alone.

We are meant to do great things,
For the unheard and the unseen,
In the beginning, at the end,
And all times in-between.

Comments:
That's quite a weight you seem to be bearing. How are you holding up?

We are meant to "do things". Only time has the authortiy to tell us if those things are great or not.

Lovely piece Hil. I enjoyed it.

(Switch 'proudly' and 'stand' to make it smoother.)

(Does this count as writing something?)

you tell me, bry.

and 'sonny', or 'dan' or whichever you feel you are today, i'm plodding along elegantly. (get your head around that one.)

you mean you are looking all calm and relaxed while inside wondering if the quiches turned out ok? Isn't that what elegant people do?

gewinnen.

:D

No, my comment didn't really count as writing something.

I did write something though. Answer that question for me.

it was 'something' as defined by the dictionary, and the kind of people who go by dictionary standards.

it was not, however, 'something' according to your own standards.

how's that?

Guess I'm just weird. ;)
