toxic
I think the reason people are often afraid of hospitals, or, more specifically, the "hospital smell" isn't because of the hospital smell, rather, it's because of the smell of sterilisation. On a sane level, sterile is good in a hospital. Who wants to really be admitted to a hospital that isn't sterile? On the other hand, the more subconscious hand, this smell implies something that is horrific to our basic instinct - survival. If a place smells of a clean-up, we not only wonder what-were-they-cleaning-up, but more so, where did those people go that were cleaned up? What did they go through? And, scarily enough, did they walk out, or..? Sure, nobody wants to be in a hospital, because nobody wants to be sick, but more importantly, nobody wants to be scared.
I got out at 8:50am. I think this is a new record for me.

That was a quick visit.
My favorite part of that sentence, though, was "out". I hope this means you're on the road to feeling better.
By the way, I hate hospitals. I avoid them at (almost) all costs.

They gave me drugs to take; and unlike those few times I stumbled out of clubs when I was younger (and sillier), I am feeling better after these ones. :P (I know, I know, i was stupid to have done that.)
and yes, alcohol is bad. (when not in moderation.)
i don't think i would have made much sense this morning, for that i apologise.
forgive me?
