in his words, but my story.

pathological liar: Function: noun: an individual who habitually tells lies so exaggerated or bizarre that they are suggestive of mental disorder.

So, I have this friend, for suggestions sake, I’ll call her 28. 28 is a nice enough girl. She’s smart, attractive, and fun to be around, but she has certain attributes that are more deficiencies than anything else.

lies so exaggerated or bizarre

Me: What are you up to this weekend? (Was making polite conversation NOT digging for invites)
28: Oh, um, I’m doing some work for my course. I’m going to be busy all weekend.
Me: Fair enough. Well, good luck with that. Ah 28, I have to go. I’m meant to be meeting a friend for lunch. I’ll talk to you later, okay?
28: Right. Talk to you later, babe.

Fair enough. Nothing odd about that. Until on the weekend I see 28 twice doing mundane things, and a friend mentions: “oh and I saw 28. She said to say hi. Said she was so bored, that she had nothing to do, and that we should all get together tonight, what do you think?”

What do I think? Does 28 have a split-personality? Because I can certainly remember 28 telling me she had homework to do. Then, this:

28: Hi girl, what’s happening. What are you up to tonight?
Me: Uh, 28, you told me you have lots of homework to do.
28: Did I? I don’t have any. I was just saying that because I wanted to spend time with my boyfriend, but he cancelled. So, what are you up to?

Why the fuck wouldn’t she just say “I want to spend time with my boyfriend” rather than making up homework she doesn’t have? I wouldn’t give a shit. And I certainly won’t be a substitute person for her if she tell lies that don’t even have a point. If people lie just for shits and giggles, then don’t even think anything about it - that is bizarre, right?

Me: Sorry, 28, I have homework.

Comments:
I lmao'd.

That's probably grammatically incorrect, I l'd mao.

you really wouldn't need to change "lmao", because "laughed" need no...

oh my god i'm a nerd.

a loveable nerd - and hey, we need more grammatical correct people in the world, even with txt and abbrevs and such... (as you can see I am NOT a grammatically correct person) : )

I enjoyed the antedote as well, thanks for sharing and hopefully 28 finds out just being open is the best way to go much fo the time
