sugar high- empirerecords
sooo, i'm on a sugar high, well, it's either that, or i'm actually happy naturally. either way, i don't mind, because either way, i'm feeling the effects. i know 3 songs on my guitar now. I fully intent to be a guitar-goddess by the end of the year. i'll let you know how that goes. my guitar teacher is kind of cool in an off-beat ben harper kind of way, so at least i'm more likely to go back - because he seems good to talk to. i promise not to have dreds when i get musically together.
any suggestions of songs i should try to learn? pref song's with decent rifs?

Sugar High!!
I love that song. The one for the movie is so much better than the orig.
I missed you heaps last night, hon. I don't know why, but I did.
And it wasn't until much much later that I even thought of calling.I felt pretty stupid that I forgot the telephone existed. I will remember for next time!
And we so have to try again with the visiting thing. I should have some more money coming in soon, so maybe I'll come visit you?

<4 empire records (it's like <3, only one more betterer) - it's one of the few movies i can watch time and again...
are you learning on an acoustic or electric? if you're going acoustic, green day's good riddance (time of your life) is a fun piece to practice picking with - as is third eye blind's motorcycle driveby (though, to be perfectly honest, that one still trips me up a lot (i'm self taught in free time over the past couple of years))... if you want some simple power chords to follow, blink 182's what went wrong or nirvana's live cover of lake of fire are both straight forward... as for good electric songs, well, i just got an electric a short while ago, so i havn't had time to learn many fun songs on that, other than nirvana's cover version of man who sold the world... oh, and if you have a capo, oasis's wonderwall is always a party favourite sing along ^_^
if you're not familiar with them, guitar tabs are wonderful for learning new songs (they're usually pretty accurate)... basically, the tab has 6 horizontal lines for the 6 strings (high e at the top, low e bottom *usually*) and numbers along the lines tell you what fret to hold (so, top to bottom, 300023 would be g, 010230 c, etc)... depending on how much you know, they may be simplistic, but it'd at least be a good starting point to have the basic chord progression handed to you (o '')b (<-- kirby thumbs up! hopefully it's all on one line, else it doesn't work, lol)
anyways, good luck, and what 3 songs do you already know, if you don't mind my asking? oh! kansas - dust in the wind, very pretty pretty sounding for picking out on an acoustic! ja ne~

I always found Down on the Corner by Creedance a fun one to learn.
Sorry for standing you up. How did you manage to get a fire man to come and visit you today?

Sonny- i have no idea what you're talking about. Standing me up? What? Anyway, will talk to you sunday 4 monopoly. Mike- it's a good thing you're in nj. I have a huge thing for guys who play guitar. One of my big weak spots i'm 'fraid. Thanks for the advice about the tabs. Will check them out. So far i know 7nation army by the white stripes, a metalica song and a riff from a santana song, oh, and the smoke on the water riff and now something i remembered by the counting crows. So fun. I will be cool in 2months. Hahaha.
