getting over it

i think it's not that you've never seen any of it before, just that you've never paid any of it any mind before... i'm sure the number 714 has appeared countless times in the first 16 years of my life, but it wasn't until i dated a girl who was born the 14th of july that i started to notice the number constantly... i'm sure i see 126 just as often, but as i have no meaning attached to the number, no reason to notice it, i don't... even if you don't have something strong to attach these names and symbol to, the fact that you noticed them for the first time and acknowledge them as "new" is enough of a distinction to start paying them mind... of course, justifying why a symbol seems to appear everywhere doesn't mean it should be dismissed - as soon as i've got a steady job where i can throw away 365$ a year, i'll be playing 714 in the local pick-3 lottery daily =p

out of curiosity - since i currently wear a celtic triquetra knot and have worn other celtic knots previously - is the celtic symbol the celtic cross or a knot or something else? if it's a knot, do you know what it's called and/or what the meaning behind it is? (i love the meaning behind various knots)

Mike, I just googled the image, it's supposedly a celtic symbol taken from a burial mound... it's... (please excuse the following dodgy description) three swirling circles that all join in the middle, but the one i keep seeing has a larger cirlce around this circle. (Does that make sense?)

Also, if you dated the 714 girl (as in past tense) perhaps you shouldn't use those numbers in the lottery. (the relationship can't have been that good if it ended, right?)

I've seen 'amberfield' and the symbol again since writing this blog entry.

And Dan (you're evil today, thus you're dan), I don't want to meet a guy any time soon. My head's not in the right space at the moment. I keep falling in and out of lust with different people. This is (I think) a sure sign that i'm meant to be going solo at the moment. Oh, and fireman stalker has got a girlfriend, so he won't be stalking me anymore. (thank God)

holy crap. i just read the celtic interpretation thing, mike, i am not preggers.
 

preggers is one interpretation, but from what i can find, it seems to be a relatively new idea of what the triple spiral may mean... while i haven't read the background explaining this interpretation, the fact that it's found on burial tombs immediately makes me think there's something else to the symbol than the birth cycle... but alas, it seems easier to find meaning in the celtic knots, which this doesn't seem to be one of (what with its lack of any overlapping arcs) - so *shrug*...

as for 714 girl, the relationship was what it was (indeed, past tense), but i feel as though if i see these numbers in this order popping up every place i look, then if i start to look at lotto results, perhaps they'll show up there as well? in the very least, it'll be a wonderful new addiction to add to my repertoire and another way to throw money away with diminishing returns =p

you should watch the movie '23'. It's an okay movie - more for the obsession about the number than anything else.
