ABD's

I'm on teaching rounds in a very small town that seems to be filled to the brim with stereotypes... then, i realised I was probably their out-of-towner stereotype, so i sat in the bar (beneath where i'm staying) and had a beer with the locals. Not very female-teachery of me, i know. Ahwell, there are worse teaching sins.
One person in my course actually went into his rounds and told the kids that it didn't really matter what he taught them anyway, because they were only probably going to remember 5% of high school anyway, told his mentor teacher that he thought she was a bad teacher and ... as you can probably guess, wasn't offered a job.
In the end though, it can't be that hard to be a teacher and stay out of trouble... right??
No more beers, I promise.

No more beers? That's a bold statement.
How about "no more beers during working hours"...or simply "no beers at work" (which still leaves room for lunch).
That sounds more rewarding than "no more beers".
Teaching doesn't require you to stop living. :)
